Our farmers market thrives because of community engagement—and volunteers play a huge part in that! As a volunteer, you’ll support the market’s mission of connecting local growers, producers, and artisans with the community in a fun, lively, and welcoming environment.
Whether you're interested in community outreach, sustainability, education, or just love good food and people, we have a role for you.
Operations Support
- Assist with market setup/breakdown (tents, tables, signage, etc.)
- Help vendors unload and set up (if needed)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of market area
Community Engagement
- Greet customers and answer questions at the info booth
- Promote market events, programs (SNAP, WIC, nutrition, etc.), and community partners
- Conduct customer counts or surveys
Education & Programming
- Assist with kids’ activities, cooking demos, or nutrition education
- Help with seasonal programs like food drives or compost collection
- Capture photos or social media content (with permission)
Special Projects
- Assist with fundraising events, grant projects, or community research
- Help write newsletter blurbs or blog posts
2026 Youth & Young Adult
Youth Marketeers
Metropolitan Marketplace offers youth and young adults a fun and engaging work environment, where they can grow through performance improvement duties in marketing roles. Participants will develop essential training, social skills, and professional strengths that have the potential to drive long-term, self-motivated careers. The program fosters a supportive, learning-friendly environment focused on mastering trades and building sustainable, purpose-driven operations for future workplace success.

We are currently curating a list of exotic and cultural food groups along with representative recipes that would make for a new exotic marketplace with both diverse, culturally driven, exciting, and community inspired. The goal is to offer a rich mix of traditional staples, street foods, fusion dishes, and unique ingredients across cultures.
